Between 1989 and 1995, Peter de Bie worked for TROS, where he was the editor of TROS Aktua and directed several documentaries. From 1998 to 2000, Peter de Bie was the editor-in-chief of the consumer program TROS Radar with Antoinette Hertsenberg. Starting in 1994, Peter de Bie hosted the radio program TROS Nieuwsshow, later known as AVROTROS Nieuwsshow (2014–2017) and Nieuwsweekend (from 2018), co-hosting with Mieke van der Weij. Peter de Bie also presented TROS Radio Online (2010) with Francisco van Jole and TROS in Bedrijf (2010–2011) with Tineke Verburg.
In late 2022, Peter de Bie had to step back from Nieuwsweekend due to health issues. On December 17, 2022, Peter de Bie officially left the program after being diagnosed with a serious staphylococcal infection.
