Ajuri Obari Ngelale was born on November 13, 1986, in Platteville, Wisconsin, United States. He is a Nigerian broadcast journalist and politician. Ngelale is currently the spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria. 

He grew up in the U.S. but returned to Nigeria in 2011 to complete his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). His career in journalism began at Africa Independent Television (AIT), where he worked as an investigative reporter, news editor, producer, and presenter. During his time at AIT, he produced notable documentaries such as "State of the Nation" and "Diary from the Delta". 

In 2016, Ngelale moved to Channels Television, where he co-anchored the show "Sunrise Daily" and created the series "Africa's Future Leaders". He documented the efforts of young African leaders working to improve their communities. 

In 2019, he shifted to a political role, becoming the lead media content producer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection campaign. After Buhari victory, Ngelale was appointed as his senior special adviser on public affairs, serving until 2023. 

Ngelale was a key figure in Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign, serving as a co-principal spokesperson. After Tinubu won the 2023 election, Ngelale was appointed as the official spokesperson for the president on July 31, 2023. He also took on roles related to climate action, including being the first special presidential envoy on climate action for Nigeria, and was involved in committees focused on green economic solutions.

On September 7, 2024, Ngelale resigned from his role as presidential spokesperson to address medical issues affecting his family. He is married and has four children, although details about his family are kept private.
