Kaan Aykutsun was born on July 22, 2002, in Turkey. From a young age, he was introduced to boxing by his uncles, sparking a passion that would shape his future. He began his boxing journey in 2008, setting the stage for a promising career.

Kaan Aykutsun trains with Kastamonu Kadidagi Camp, under the Turkish Boxing Federation, based in Ankara. His dedication and skill have led to significant achievements in the boxing arena.
In March 2024, Kaan Aykutsun qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by winning all four of his bouts at the world Olympic qualification tournament held in Italy. His performance was highlighted by a key victory over South Korea’s Kim Jin Jae in the decisive match.

- At the 2023 World Championships, he advanced to the round of 16 in the light heavyweight division, where he faced a loss against the eventual champion, Nurbek Oralbay from Kazakhstan.
- In the 2022 Mediterranean Games, he reached the quarterfinals but was defeated by the eventual champion, Vladimir Mironchikov from Serbia.
- He also competed in the 2022 U22 European Championships, making it to the quarterfinals before losing to Delil Dadaev of Germany.
