Biography

Ifeanyi Ajaegbo is a writer, performer and development expert. He was born in (1971) in Enugu, Nigeria. For close to two decades after leaving the university, he played and taught basketball, fought and taught martial arts, worked in the oil industry in Nigeria, and now consults in sustainable community development in the Niger Delta.

Notable Works

Apart from being a writer, Ifeanyi Ajaegbo is also a culture development
expert. He is the executive director of the Center for Integrated Youth Development, an NGO working in the Niger Delta. He is also the founding secretary of the
Society for Relevant Art and Culture (SORAC). Ifeanyi Ajaegbo works has appeared in many journals, magazines etc. He was a participant on the Crossing Borders writing programme of the British Council and Lancaster University and published in the Crossing Borders magazine.

Books

Ifeanyi Ajaegbo is the author of the novel "Tent 59". Tent 59 captures and beautifully articulates the desperation - that is, the migrant’s journey - through the eyes of one man from Port Harcourt to Lampedusa and beyond. His debut novel "Sarah House" was been shortlisted for the NLNG Literature Prize for 2012.

Awards And Achievements

Ifeanyi Ajaegbo works have been featured in various collection of selected literary passages all over the world and have been translated into several languages.

He won the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for the African Region in 2005, Association of Nigeria Authors Prose Prize for 2006. Ifeanyi Ajaegbo was a Crossing Borders Fellow of the British Council in 2005. His debut novel Sarah House has been shortlisted for the NLNG Literature Prize for 2012.
